the memories and honor the legacy
of the 129 gallant men
lost aboard USS Thresher
on April 10, 1963
Thresher Base holds six regular meetings per year on the third Saturday of the months of January, March, May, July. September & November. Additionally, Thresher Base hosts a Memorial Day service at Albacore Park as well as the Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service, held on the Saturday closest to April 10.

A presentation titled 'USS Thresher, Loss & Legacy' will be given by Thresher Base Commander Kevin Galeaz, NERD1 Commander Peter Koester & a USS Thresher Family member on Thursday, January 24, 2019 @ the Hooksett Public Library starting at 1830.
The Hooksett Public Library is located at 31 Mount St. Mary's Way, Hooksett, NH.
Please arrive ~1800 to help greet the public wearing your vests and ball caps if you have them.
From Rt. 3 north, turn right onto Campus Drive. Take the first left onto Mt. St. Mary's Way, over the speed bumps and past the former Covent building (now Condos). Take the next left into the main parking area including spots for handicap plates in front of the building. Additional parking and
handicap access to the presentation room is located behind the building. Parking is also permitted along the side of University Way to the North of the library.

Take Biddeford exit #32 off I-95 and keep to the left after passing through the toll booths. After making the left onto Alfred Road (Route 111), you will encounter three stop lights. At the third light, make a left into the 5 Points Shopping Center. The restaurant is all the way down next to Big Lots. There is plenty of parking. The lunch buffet is $7.95 and they offer over 200 food items. They also serve beer, wine, and cocktails.
There is a 10% Senior discount.

The 56th Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service will be held on
Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the R. W. Traip Academy,
The doors to the lobby will be open at 1100 to permit time for USS Thresher Family and Former Crew to socialize. The doors to the Auditorium will open at 1130.
At 1230, the USS Thresher Former Crew in attendance will assemble on stage to answer questions from the USS Thresher Family members regarding their loved ones in a segment titled
'Memories of the men lost, from the men who served with them".
At 1300, the memorial service will begin.
Invitations will be sent to USS Thresher Family & Former Crew on February 2, 2019. This year you have the option to receive an electronic invitation instead of the formal mailed invitation. To RSVP, and to select your choice regarding opting out of the formal mailed invitation, please use the following link to the 56th USS Thresher Memorial Service RSVP Form.
USS Thresher Family & Former Crew are asked to RSVP by filling out one registration form for each member in your party who will be attending. The RSVP list will be used to create your name tag, and allow us to purchase an appropriate number of roses.
To perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave their lives in the
pursuit of their duties while serving their country.
That their dedication, deeds and supreme sacrifice be a
constant source of motivation toward greater accomplishments.
